Wigan is now offering warfarin home monitoring to every patient in the Wigan borough.
The easy to use service is already helping hundreds of patients in the region. 84 year old patient John Binks (pictured) who describes the service as ‘dead easy’ and ‘as easy as making a cup of tea” encourages more warfarin users to give the service a go:
“Self-testing is very convenient. Having appointments have a tendency to get in the way of normal life. It also saves me both time and money and gives me more freedom to do things I want to do. It gives a liberating effect on every day life. It also gives me an improved quality of life and self-confidence.”
The service enables patients to self-test at home, without the hassle of inconvenient clinic appointments.
Thank you to everyone that came to our free to attend patient awareness lunch on the 20th July at the Wigan Warriors training ground, Central Park. Patients had to opportunity to hear more about the service, receive training from nurses and speak to the expert patient John Binks.
